Actively updating this news release as more information comes in. 2008 July 24: New Issue: British Post Office issues a souvenir sheet and a First Day Cover that commemorates the Centenary of the London 1908 Olympic Games. 2008 July 10: Article: 13-page SOC article in July's Stamp Magazine 2008 July 1: Article: July's Philatelic Bulletin promoting SOC's SmartStamp that commemorates the Centenary of the London 1908 Olympic Games. 2008 April 20: Publications: New book published by the Society of Olympic Collectors: ‘The 1908 Olympic Games, the Great Stadium, & the Marathon a Pictorial Record' 2007 May 17: New Issue: British Post Office issues a souvenir sheet of definitive stamps called "Memories of Wembley Stadium" that commemorates the London 1948 Olympic Games amongst other sporting events. A miniature sheet is also being issued that displays the arch of the new Wembley stadium. These are being issued two days before the FA Cup Final, of the 19th May 2007, which is the first major football event to take place there since the stadium was rebuilt. 2006 February 25: SOC OPEN MEETING at Philatex between 10:30am and 12:30pm in room 22. Displays of London 1908, 1948 and 2012 will be there. 2005 July 6: 2012 Olympic Games to be hosted by London.
